The Rosses Hat Class: January 27
Saturday, January 27 from 10 AM - 12:30 PM
Let The Rosses hat be your excuse to knit with The Fibre Co.'s gorgeous Arranmore yarn. Plus, you'll get to learn the beautiful blackberry stitch and pair it with a simple cable braid to make what's sure to become your favorite winter hat. It's become mine!
From Kelbourne Woolens, distributor of The Fibre Co. yarns:
The Rosses is named for the Irish speaking region of County Donegal called Na Rosa in Irish Gaelic. The simple trinity, or blackberry, stitch is an important element of hand knits, and is often used with pride amongst the hand knitters in the region, as machine knits cannot replicate the intricate stitch. A simple cable braid breaks up the trinity stitch, and both have attractive integrated decreases for the crown.
This class in intended for those who already know knitting basics like cast on, knit, purl as well as are familiar with using circular and double pointed needles.
Homework: Please complete the ribbed brim, as we will be focusing on the fancy new stitches during class.
Supplies needed: The Rosses knitting pattern, one skein of The Fibre Co. Arranmore yarn, size US 8 and US 10 - 16" circular needles and size US 10 double pointed needles (or size needed to obtain gauge), cable needle, stitch markers, and a yarn needle to be purchased at Home Made.
Class fee includes one 2 1/2 hour session. Supplies are sold separately.
