We're Closing for Business (by the end of July) - Thank you for 7 1/2 years!

June 17, 2018 Julie O'Neill

UPDATE: Last day business will be open will be Friday, July 27. Please see bottom of website for most current shop hours.

After months of thoughtful consideration, I have decided to set my sights on new goals and close Home Made. We are now offering 40% OFF all merchandise IN-STORE ONLY and expect to close both our brick and mortar and online shops by the end of July (exact date TBD). We will continue offering our weekly Sweater Club classes and individual instruction throughout the month of July.

It has been my pleasure to serve our community of crafters for 7 1/2 years.
Thank you so much for being part of it!

I have poured myself into this business for a long time, beginning with all the preparations in the year before I opened our brick and mortar shop's doors in January 2011. Together, with my family and friends and customers, we have created a beautiful space filled with inspiration — a space that has brought people together to gather around our beloved knitting, sewing and quilting.

I opened Home Made with the intention of sharing my philosophy that the process can be just as important as the finished project; that using beautiful, quality materials make a difference; and, that there is a great sense of pride that comes from making something yourself.

I see Home Made as one of my life’s projects. The process of owning and operating this business has been just as valuable as the end result. And, over the past 7 1/2 years together, we have added beauty and inspiration to our little corner of New Jersey. I’ve also witnessed the pride displayed in so many of you, as you’ve tackled new hobbies and new techniques in our classes. I’m so proud of our accomplishments.

I hope you continue carving out space to create beauty and remember that talent is mostly the manifestation of patience and persistence. And, that, at the end of the day, you can always unravel your yarn or rip out a seam if needed. We can begin again.

With love and gratitude,

Julie Petrella O’Neill
