I’ve been thinking about these drawers ever since my last visit to Anthropologie in NYC. Of course, I am always smitten with their lovely clothes and home goods. But, I am equally, if not more, inspired by their displays. Some very talented people work for Anthropologie and it shows on a regular basis with their ever-changing designs. I mean, check out what they did with corks!
So, when my brother offered me an old dresser after I had given him my couch last weekend–the one that wouldn’t fit through any doorways to get to my living room–I accepted. Fair trade? Yea, not quite. But, it was a win because I knew I could enlist Dad’s help to turn the drawers into some extra wall storage for the shop (a la photo above!!!). The rest of the dresser will become part of something yet to be determined, I’m sure.
I started painting the drawers yesterday so hopefully by the end of the week I’ll be able to post some photos. I’ve opted to keep it simple by painting them white rather than trying to replicate the ones above with a faux finish. I’ve got to keep moving through these projects so I can get to some others, especially since the internet seems to be filled with some great ideas for repurposing old furniture as of late. Check out this pallet bed frame and this head/foot board bench!
