Yesterday, some new prints from Birch Fabrics‘ Avalon line arrived! Between the adorable His + Her bikes and the name “Avalon,” I knew we’d need a few of these organic cotton prints in the Home Made Shop. (For those of you not familiar with area, Home Made is located just inland of Avalon beaches in southern NJ which is why this seems so serendipitous. At least it does to me. (: )
Do you see the sweet little purple bird resting on the back? *swoon*
Don’t worry, I’m still smitten with the other Birch Fabrics in the shop so I whipped up a new beach bag this past weekend.
Nothing like a gorgeous Memorial Day Weekend and more trips to the beach finally within sight to motivate me to pull out Heather Bailey’s Saturday Market Bag pattern and get sewing. This versatile bag would also come in handy during those strolls through South Jersey’s upcoming farmers’ markets. (Click here for a fabulous summary of schedule and locations.)
For this bag, I selected two prints from Birch Fabrics’ Circa 60 Beach Mod line since I just couldn’t resist those campers. This sewing pattern offers three variations for this bag so I opted for the reversible. It even has a pocket to help me keep track of those beach tags.
Now, I just need to get my real bike tuned up so I can actually ride it to the beach. . .
Fabric and sewing pattern available in the Home Made shop!
