Harvest Ruche Beret

October 19, 2011 Julie

Hiya. How was your weekend? Well, I guess for most of you it’s old news by now but being that my weekend is Monday and Tuesday it felt like a relevant question.

I spent my weekend knitting the Ruche Beret designed by Susan B. Anderson from the new Weekend Hats book by Cecily Glowick Macdonald and Melissa Labarre. This book has a great collection of hat patterns that you can (very manageably) take on over the course of a weekend–whether that be Saturday/Sunday or Monday/Tuesday! (:

For mine, I used Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino in Harvest, just as the pattern suggests. Harvest is the perfect Fall color and this yarn is so soft and cozy and dreamy. *swoon*

I know a lot of you are planning for your handmade holiday gifts and this hat would make a terrific present. By the way, am I on your list??? ;)

Left to right:  Twilight (423), Cloud (411), Wildfire (424), Harvest (415), Garden (421), and Snow (410)

I think I’ll cast on with Garden for my next hat. Another rich, earthy color suited for cooler weather. What color would you choose?

The lovely Suri Merino yarn is available in the Home Made shop.
