I don’t know about you, but it’s crunch time for me and my holiday gift knitting. Crunch time means that if I haven’t already finished your gift–no matter how much I love you and want to give you a hand-knit present for the holidays–you will be getting a) a hat, b) a hat or something else small made of bulky yarn, or c) a hug and a present sometime in the New Year. It’s the thought that counts, right???
I’ve had my eye on Spud & Chloe‘s Li’l Man Vest pattern for a while now. Finally, I knit up one in Spud & Chloe’s Outer yarn in Carbon to give to my nephew, Finn, for Christmas. He’s gonna look so handsome! While I have no doubt Finn would make a superb child model, he is not pictured in the photograph above. While this little boy is also adorable, he is someone else’s nephew who appears on the Spud & Chloe pattern cover.
Have you knit with Outer before? It’s super cozy and knits super quickly. I knit this vest over the course of two evenings! You might think that its quick-knit-ability is the best part about Outer. Perhaps it is. But, another selling point for me was the fact that it’s superwash wool so Finn’s parents can put it in the washing machine. You know, in case Finn happens to drop his lollipop on his new vest or something.
How are your handmade gifts coming along?
