A Wish for 2012 (+ Holiday Hours)

Are you ready for twenty-twelve?! Now, I’m not one to make official New Year’s Resolutions (as in, make a numbered list of my goals underneath the title “New Years’ Resolutions”). This is partly because I don’t want to make empty promises to myself. But, I also want my goals for 2012 to be loftier than “finish painting the exterior of the Home Made house.” Even though I want that. For reals. (:

My mom recently sent me one of those email forwards with an inspiring quote that you’re supposed to forward to all the people you love (and if you don’t, someone will experience some sort of unfortunate fate). Just like I’m not one for official New Year’s Resolutions, I’m not really one for email forwards either. Particularly, if the said email claims that bad things will come if I disobey it.

That said, I’d like to share part of that email because it’s just what I wish for all of us today and in the New Year. I don’t know who the author is so if you know where this quote comes from, let me know.

“May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.”

May you remember to nurture yourself through time with friends, arts and crafts, yoga, or whatever else brings you joy. And, may you get to play with sparklers as you ring in the New Year. Okay, I added this last part myself.

Home Made will be open the abbreviated hours of 11AM – 3PM on New Year’s Eve and CLOSED on New Year’s Day. We will resume our normal hours of 11AM – 6 PM Wednesday through Sunday on. . . . Wednesday!

Happy New Year! Bring it, 2012.
