With at least four (or maybe five?) pregnant ladies in my circle right now, I’ve decided to begin stock-piling baby gifts. As you know (or may be able to guess), my project list is kinda loooong. So, in addition to scoring high in the cute and snuggly categories, I’ve gotta be on the lookout for projects that aren’t super fussy.
The Super Quick + Easy Baby Quilt in Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts is just that–quick and easy. And, because it only uses one yard each of two fabrics, you can go for the organic cottons that are especially soft and made without all those pesticides and harsh chemicals. If you haven’t stitched with this gorgeous fabric yet, I promise it’ll be like a little vacation for your hands! And, who doesn’t need a vacation?! Actually, these are the only kinds of vacations I get these days. . .
So far, I’ve made one of these quilts in Cloud9 Fabrics Ele-fete and stripe prints and another in Penguin + Fish’s Safari Sweet fabric. Both are quilted with a few zigzag stitches in places of quilt ties.
And, I’d say that you could definitely make it 2 to 4 hours, as the pattern suggests. I might even say you could make two in that amount of time! Well, as long as you don’t encounter any bobbin drama. . .
Who’s ready to get stitching?
