One of my favorite ways to celebrate my mother is to encourage her to take time for herself. To relax. Since she’s the type of person who will have 20 minutes to spare and decide it’s the perfect amount of time to start mowing the lawn.
Mom’s got plans for an upcoming vacation so I thought this little travel bag would be the perfect Mother’s Day gift. It’s no massage or mani-pedi, but hopefully it’s something that will make her trip a little more special. It’s totally spa-worthy, no?
I used some new Amy Butler fabric to make the “Lawn Cosmetic Bag,” a pattern in the book 1,2,3 Sew by Ellen Luckett Baker. Instead of using canvas as the pattern calls for, I fused lightweight interfacing and some fleece to the bag’s cotton lining to add stability. This bag is a terrific size for holding toiletries and the boxed corners make it super easy to find said toiletries. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
