Memorial Day Weekend is the kick off for our summer season here at “The Jersey Shore.” Gorgeous weather and a long weekend brought some lovely and familiar faces from last summer. Before and after their time at beach, of course.
Now, we don’t have any alligators in our waters. As far as I know! But, I couldn’t help but be inspired to stitch up this adorable toy alligator during my weekend in the shop. Thankfully, this alligator is more cute than intimidating. I mean, it has a patchwork belly!
The pattern is by Penguin & Fish, the company responsible for the super soft and playful Safari Sweet organic cotton fabric collection. I also used this fabric to make some of these baby blankets and Mom used it to make these pajamas. Along with thorough directions, this pattern allows you to use up some of those fabric scraps that you don’t always know what to do with. I stitched this little guy up in an afternoon and plan to make one for each of my nephews. (:
Would you make this alligator? Well, think about it! Because, TODAY through next Sunday, June 10, I’m offering 10% OFF all Penguin & Fish products — including the entire Safari Sweet fabric collection, Alligator sewing pattern, and embroidery kits! The embroidery kits are great for kids ages 8+ who could use a project to keep those fingers busy and the creativity flowing this summer. . .
