Well, I finally got around to making the large sized version of the Spice Market Tote. Since I thought it would make a perfect size for a beach bag, I chose to use Dear Stella’s It’s a Shore Thing fabric. Obviously. I lined mine with some fun orange polka dots, but you could choose some pink stripes from Cloud9 Fabrics’ Simpatico fabric collection, some navy sketch fabric from Lotta Jansdotter’s Echo, or whatever other fabric makes your heart sing!
Pair this bag with flip flips and and a beach towel and you’re ready for the beach. Or, some Chuck Taylor’s and a nice grassy spot for a picnic.
This bag is just made up of straight seams, allowing for the perfect introduction to bag making. If you’re interested in giving this project a try, I’ve got the pattern and all the supplies you need for sale in the Home Made shop.
If you’re new(ish) to sewing and feel like a little guidance would help, you can sign up for a private sewing lesson or grab 3 of your favorite peeps and sign up for your own Spice Market Tote class in the Home Made studio!
C’mon, don’t be shy. Let’s sew!
