As soon as this fabric arrived in the shop, I knew I would be making another Charm Clutch. It’s no secret that Amy Butler’s Charm Clutch is one my favorite bags and more evidence on this point is available here and here. I’m an open [craft] book. . .
The navy and metallic gold feather print from Dear Stella’s Marea fabric collection is perfectly festive for this time of year and I knew it would be my go-to accessory for special occasions or a even night out for dinner. Yep, I toted this one to a wedding recently. I opted for a a single fabric for the exterior and then lined it with Straws in the Minty color from Cloud9 Fabrics’ Simpatico collection. Classy, eh?
But that wasn’t it for me and the Marea fabrics as shortly thereafter, I stitched up another of Amy Butler’s Spice Market Totes in the butterfly fabric. And, there is plenty more evidence that I’m also seriously digging this bag here and here. For this latest Spice Market Tote, I kept it simple with a solid orange fabric for the lining. Why not let those beautiful butterflies have their glory? (:
Either of these bags would make a pretty *sweet* present if you’re making your holiday gifts this year, if I do say so myself. Both the Charm Clutch and Spice Market Tote sewing patterns are available for purchase in the Home Made shop so stop on by to collect your supplies! It’s not too late – you still have time to get stitching. I believe in you.
Or, if you’d like to embark on this type of sewing adventure with some supervision and guidance, sign yourself up to make either bag in a class this coming January/February. All the details on our Charm Clutch and Spice Market Tote classes are right here. Like when this is happening, what supplies you need, how much it cost, etc.
Do we have a plan?
