Handmade Holidays : Gift Guide No. 1

This here is the first installment of the Home Made holiday gift guide!

I’m kicking things off with some ideas that would suit anybody who likes to get down with good old-fashioned cutting, glueing, and basic stitching.

Because sometimes an iPad isn’t enough. You want handmade for the holidays.

Handmade Holidays Gift Guide No. 1 : Stitchin’ Gifts

*Good quality felt. Feels real niiice, easy to work with, and comes in super fun colors. A felt bundle is the perfect gift to get those creative juices flowing. Grab one of our 9″ x 12″ felt bundles of 8, available in 4 color ways.

*Sublime Floss. This 100% cotton, 6-ply embroidery floss is available in 8 different color ways. A must-have for working with the aforementioned felt and/or doing all sorts of embroidery. This versatile floss comes in packs of 7.

*Embroidery Needles. How can you sew without needles??? Our Pebble Pack from John James offers a variety of sizes that’ll see you through. Easy to store, hard to lose. A win, win.

*Aleene’s No-Sew Glue. Two words. No sew. Who doesn’t love that?! This glue works on fabric and felt and is perfect for tacking felt pieces down before you embroider. Or, you can just stop at the glue part and skip the embroidery altogether. Crafter’s choice. Bottom line is this glue is good to have on hand.

*Gingher Embroidery Scissors. The best. Gingher’s Designer Series scissors add personality to your toolbox, making this set of shears extra special. They cut like a dream and are built to last. I don’t know any crafter who wouldn’t want to find these tucked inside her stocking Christmas morning.

Now, let’s say I were going to put together a little “theme” gift. Because that’s how I roll. In addition to the goodies mentioned above, I would add this book or this book to the mix. Then, I’d wrap it all up with some kraft paper and tie up with pom-poms. And then, I’d probably try to gift it early because I’d be excited. But, mostly impatient.

All the glorious gifts you see above are available for purchase in the Home Made shop. Don’t live nearby, call 609.536.2940 to place your mail-order!
