Can you really ever have enough polka dot fabric? Or bicycles or elephant fabric? Clearly, my answer is “No.”
Just arrived to the shop are some new dreamy organic cottons from Birch Fabrics that are so so soft. I couldn’t resist their bicycle fabric with coordinating colors of modern dots. And, their sweet elephant print is freshly available after being sold out for a while. It’s no wonder because this print is perfect for a boy or girl nursery!
If you’ve never worked with their fabrics before, you’re in for a real treat. These fabrics glide beautifully under your fingers as you sew and get even softer with use and washing. I recently used their Stem Stripe in Grass to make a pair of Wide Leg Lounge Pants from this book and they have quickly become my absolute favorite pajama pants. Terrific fit and easily hemmed for shorties like me!
As you can see, the family of elephants and I are already acquainted as I couldn’t wait to start on a new class project. I don’t plan to keep you waiting with bated breath for too long so stay tuned for more details on that! ;)
You can find these gorgeous fabrics as well as lots of other sewing notions and copies of Amy Butler’s In Stitches book for sale in the Home Made shop!
