I think this whole “Christmas in July” thing holds a somewhat more serious meaning for those of us who make our holiday gifts. Don’t you think? Because when July rolls around each Summer, I usually say to myself, “Julie, if you want to be prepared and not become a huge stress ball trying to make all your holiday gifts in the 24th hour, you better start NOW.” Easier said than done, for sure.
Hopefully, getting inspired to start cracking on those gifts early comes a little easier with such cool holiday fabrics like Josephine Kimberling’s Hip Holiday collection for Blend Fabrics. Her modern take on the season brings you happy and bright colors to spread that Christmas spirit.
Wouldn’t these fabrics make a fun table runner for your holiday table? You could even stitch up some pot holders and oven mitts to have around for hostess gifts! And, who doesn’t love a set of holiday pillowcases, napkins, or pair of pajama pants???
If you’re not quite ready to talk Christmas trees and ornaments, how about some of Jessica Swift’s Sardinia, also for Blend Fabrics? Sardinia captures the beauty of the Mediterranean so, if you aren’t already enjoying a relaxing zen-like Summer vacation, you can at least let these fabrics transport you to a place where “washed out pastel pink and golden houses are set against the turquoise sea.” Sounds like Sardinia should be added to my travel wishlist! Have you been?
All of these fabric beauties, along with sewing patterns, notions, ideas and encouragement are NOW available at Home Made! We’ve got fabric cut by the quarter yard an fat quarter bundles so come on over and let’s make something. (:
