BRRRRR! It’s been so cold outside that it’s hard not to state the obvious — that it’s REALLY ridiculously frigid. If you’re in the United States, you are already painfully aware of this so you really don’t need me to say it. But I can’t help it! It’s so cold!
Never before have I been so glad to have a large stash of hand knits to help me stay toasty. Well, and a batch of this soup. Tip: Blend about a cup of cashews into the broth to thicken the soup and add some much needed flavor.
One particular yarn that’s especially toasty is Manos del Uruguay’s Wool Clasica. Have you knit with Wool Clasica before?
Made of 100% handspun, kettle-dyed wool from the Corriedale sheep of Uruguay, this hearty single-ply yarn gives great rustic texture to chunky outwear and accessories. And, the artisanal spin to this yarn makes every stitch unique, adding to the character of this classic from Manos.
With some exciting new colorways in the Home Made shop, we’re featuring Wool Clasica in our next complimentary knitting workshop for February — the Onda Cowl. This workshop is complimentary with purchase of materials so just sign up when you stop in to get your yarn and knitting needles.
So, c’mon and join us to knit the Onda Cowl, one of many great free patterns from Manos del Uruguay, on Thursday, February 6 from 6 – 8 PM. If you’re ready to learn about lace stitches and how to read a simple knitting chart, this workshop is for YOU! And, if you’re not sure if you’re ready, let’s talk about it and figure it out.
