For a while there it was starting to feel like Spring would never come. But, with some of this recent sunshine and warmer temperatures, I’ve been able to open up the windows to let some fresh air in. Boy does it feel good. Though, I can’t give this lil’ bit of sunshine all the credit for my more upbeat mood.
Along with the sunshine, Leah Duncan’s newest fabrics from her Meadow collection also arrived this week! My moods have always been affected by color so adding this new batch of fabrics inspired by fresh air, meadows, and Summer days is just what I needed for a little boost in what has felt like a never-ending Winter.
You can get some ideas of what to make with these beautiful 100% premium cotton fabrics by checking out Art Gallery’s lookbook here. Would you give the Sunrise Quilt a try? It’s a free pattern that you can find here. Gosh, even a few smaller projects like some new placemats, napkins or throw pillows would put a spring in your step.
So, treat yourself to some fresh sewing supplies! I can’t say this is backed by any hard evidence, but I believe that surrounding yourself with pretty fabrics not only boost seratonin levels but also can make you a kinder, more compassionate and loving person. No?
A little reminder: I’m expecting a baby boy soon (due April 5) and will have to close the shop for a few weeks. Ya know, to give birth and begin to figure out this whole mama thing. So, let’s get you set up with a project or few by mid to late March so you’ll have something lovely to work on while we’re closed. Deal?
Select fabrics from Leah Duncan’s Meadow collection are now available for purchase at Home Made by the 1/2 yard and in fat quarter bundles! We’ve also got thread, sewing patterns, and all the other stuff you’ll need to get stitching — stop on by. (:
