New things are less scary when you’ve got a few buddies to tag along and tackle them with you. No? And, trying out new stuff is also way less scary when we’re offering to get you started on your way. So, get ready to kick your knitting skills up a notch this month because we’ve got another complimentary knitting workshop coming up real soon! This workshop is free with purchase of materials in the Home Made shop.
On Wednesday, March 19 from 6 – 8 PM, we’re offering to get you started on your own Kathadin hat — a stylish, slouchy, stripey hat that’s not only going to give you a chance to work with some lovely Acadia yarn from The Fibre Company but you’ll also learn how to incorporate stripes to your circular knitting. It’s also a terrific accessory to take you from the winter months into spring. In this workshop, we’ll show you how to knit with two colors while you alternate knitting with each skein to create “jogless stripes”, or stripes that disguise where you started and ended.
Since we’ll get you started on your project and leave you to finish on your own, it’s best if you’ve already used circular and double pointed needles to complete at least one prior hat project. It’s also recommended that you test your gauge prior to class and, if you’d like to complete the ribbed brim for homework, we can jump right into the stripey goodness at the start of our workshop.
What do you think? Are you in? You can read all about this workshop and required materials here. Then, just call 609.536.2940 or stop in to RSVP!
If you’d like to give this hat a try on your own, you can grab a copy of the pattern printed on card stock at Home Made when you purchase of two skeins of The Fibre Company Acadia yarn.
