Learn to Quilt!

If learning to quilt is on your “list,” then now is the time! We’re offering a new project for our beginner quilting class — the Divided by 3 Table Runner. Sure, we love a nice big handmade quilt to snuggle up with but the reality of larger projects is that they require much more time to pass between meetings (and a lot more homework on your part), sometimes making it tricky to show you all the basics to get you on your quilting way. And, who doesn’t love a table runner to jazz things up a bit in that dining room?

Our next Learn to Quilt Class is being offered on the two upcoming Saturdays of November 1 from 10AM – 1PM and November 15 from 10AM – 12PM. By tackling this manageable table runner project, we’ll show you how to cut your fabric and assemble your patchwork pieces, add sashing and borders, create your quilt sandwich, quilt your project with simple straight stitching and a walking presser foot, AND create and attach your binding. All in the knick of time so you have a pretty new table runner for your holiday table!

This way, we’re literally taking you through just about every step of your quilt project so you’ll have the hands-on experience of what to do when you decide it’s time to tackle that larger quilt. This is truly an introduction to quilting. While you should have some familiarity with operating a sewing machine, no quilting experience is expected of you.
