Have you ever wanted to dye your own fabric? Well, Yellow Owl Workshop recently released a kit that makes it SUPER easy to try — an Indigo Blue Textile Kit which you can now purchase at Home Made! :)
Everything you need to create your own hand dyed scarf is included in the kit — a plain white scarf, instruction booklet, indigo blue textile ink in dripless applicator, and protective gloves. You could wear your finished scarf as, well, a scarf or use it as fabric to stitch up into some throw pillows. And, you should even have leftover dye to transform any other cloth item you fancy dyeing. I’m actually tempted to dye some plain white canvas to make my own fabric for another Poolside Tote. What do you think?
The reassuring part of using Yellow Owl Workshop’s dripless applicator is that the ink flows like dye but can be applied like paint, allowing you to try a whole bunch of dyeing techniques. The instruction booklet shows you how to tie-dye, shibori dye, vat dye, and use resist dye, painting, and stamping techniques. Reading between the lines: Loads of fun without a crazy mess to clean up!
Ready to give it a go? Maybe you should grab one for you AND one for Mom so you can craft together for Mother’s Day. You cuties.
