You guys. This dress! Life with my little dude is very focused on trains and trucks and bugs right now so a pretty pink dress is definitely a fun distraction.
I stitched up this sweet Sunny Dress to show off our new Coastline fabrics and I now find myself a little bummed that this pattern is only available in girls' sizes. I may try to replicate that fun ruffled collar on a Peplum top, though.
In addition to the ruffle detail on the front, there are criss-cross straps with a bow to secure. I mean, really, if you have a little girl or girlS in your life that are size 5, 6 and/or 7, I would says she needs this dress.
I tend to separate my cutting into one project session and then see how much I can get done sewing the next available nap time. With this project (and only because I cut my pattern pieces ahead of time), I completed this during one solid nap time. If you don't happen to measure your available free time by nap times (you don't?!), then you would probably be able to stitch this cutie up in under 2 1/2 hours. I used this free tutorial and found the instructions to be very clear. I hope you do too!
Will you give this a try? We have so many fun fabrics in our shop that would suit this summer dress perfectly. And more on the way! ;)
Coastline fat quarter bundles are available in our web shop here. And, they really do make a beautiful quilt using this pattern. Though, you order yardage, too! Just send us an email to email@example.com and we'll sort it out!
