Pom Pom or No Pom Pom?

Stovetop Hat in Manos Maxima

With the shop closed on Tuesdays, I was able to head up to Philadelphia yesterday to meet a brand new person and to catch up with his mama. A pretty perfect day full of surprising snowflakes and a visit with friends was made even better because I had a new hat to help me cope with the chill of an albeit short-lived winter wonderland.

My Stovetop hat looks great as is — perfect amount of slouch with a classy cable. But, now that it’s all finished, I’m faced with a very big dilemma. Should I add the pom pom as the pattern calls for or leave it off? Seriously. What do you think?

Manos del Uruguay Maxima {Manos del Uruguay Maxima yarn in Cotton Candy, Sand, Saffron + Kohl}

I used Manos del Uruguay Maxima yarn in Larkspur. Though, this hat sure would be nice in any of these colors, too. I tend to knit with solid or semi-solid yarns for cabled projects because they really show off the more intricate stitch patterns that are sometimes lost with those fun multi-colored yarns.

What are you knitting lately?

Are you making projects for yourself (like me) or have you started your holiday knitting for others?

Manos del Uruguay yarns, the Stovetop hat pattern, knitting needles + accessories are all available for purchase in the Home Made shop. So, support small businesses — we sure do appreciate it!
